July 5-9, 2011
Take the whole family to camp this summer in beautiful Waterville Valley, NH - where curiosity rules! The Curious George Cottage, the former summer home of Curious George authors Margret and H.A. Rey, will be our home base as we explore the forests, rivers and peaks of the White Mountain National Forest, just as the Reys used to do. We will let curiosity be our guide for this week of fun-filled activities that families can enjoy together, including pond explorations, star gazing, hikes, fishing, campfires, nature walks, and eco-art projects. Free time will be built into each day to enjoy all the resort amenities Waterville Valley has to offer such as biking, golfing, tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, ice skating, boating, and chair lift rides. Hotel style lodging, all meals and all resort amenities are included in camp fee.

Waterville Valley as viewed from atop Mt. Tecumseh. Waterville Valley is surrounded by the beautiful peaks, rivers, forests and ponds of the White Mountain National Forest. This will be our classroom as we spend our week exploring and learning together.

The Snowy Owl Inn is considered one of New England's finest country inns. Set in the heart of Waterville Valley and the White Mountain National Forest, the all-season 85 room Inn offers a relaxing vacation and a great family getaway.

Our hikes and explorations will take us to breathtaking views like this one on the Welch and Dickey trail. On our leisurely hike, we will discover the plants and animals that call this place home. Once on top of the Welch Mountain Ledges, we will enjoy the view while eating lunch, and then participate in a service learning project to help protect the fragile plant communities located on these granite ledges.

Our days will be filled with a variety of activities such as building critter homes along the Curious George Nature Trail.

Frogs, dragonflies, mayflies and salamanders all call Corcoran Pond home. We will catch as many as we can during our pond explorations. We will even spend a morning catching a few fish!

We will hike to historic Goodrich Rock and climb the ladder to take in the outstanding view of Waterville Valley.
